Cakes and Ale by the fabulous Somerset Maugham. A juicy satire about literary London in the 1930s, such a fun well told story was exactly what I was in the mood for.
But as it turned out...
...I would have to visit a bookstore to enjoy the novel itself (but could enjoy the lovely note at home)! I immediately began the hunt for these fabulous postcards and how appropriate that I should come across them on Amazon. A box of 100 cards, each representing a Penguin classic, I simply could not resist. Can you possibly blame me?
These are really quite nice! I wonder if Twilight has become a Penguin classic yet...

Very cool, Laura! I love postcards as a way for keeping in touch with friends with something less than a full-fledged letter but more than an email or text message. I sometimes buy vintage postcards at flea markets and antique shops, usually of cities where I've lived, and then use them. At a dollar to a few bucks, they're as cheap as greeting cards, only cooler. I always get great responses from people when I send them.
